Nothing makes you miserable like back pain. It can sideline the best of us from our daily routine, you don’t want to go into work, you miss that plan with friends or you power through in aching pain at work. However, when you are balancing taking care of your children, the household and a job, you might as well just get it over with immediate surgery if there was an option.

There are plenty of ways to take care of your back which are alternative to back surgery.

Watch What You Eat

The foods that we eat can reverse or prevent an array of health conditions. This includes different types of back pain. Inflammation is the body’s response to protect itself from harm, it is also a popular cause of back aches. Studies have proven that anti inflammatory foods help in relieving inflammation and ultimately the pain. These foods include fatty fish, nuts, green vegetables, and bright colored fruits.

Indulge in Yoga

The good thing about Yoga is that regardless of what your back is going through you can still practice yoga. Many people have talked about how they have skipped getting surgeries or even their meds when they began practicing yoga, according to a 2017 research in Annals of Internal Medicine.

Sign up for a therapeutic program where you can share your ailment with the trainer and be patient as you practice yogic wellness.

Calcium is Vital

Your back ache might stem from a bone structure condition. To reverse this, it helps if you get enough calcium and vitamin D. Most adults should have between 1000 mg to 1200 mg of calcium in a day. But at the same time you have to be careful because too much calcium can cause heart problems.

Some great sources of calcium that you can incorporate in your daily meals which the family can eat too are yogurt, cheese, milk, salmon, tofu, and broccoli.

Be Picky with Footwear

Heels might be the most desired thing in your wardrobe but you might want to think about ditching them till your back gets better. We don’t realize it but most of the time, we simply need a rest. Try to avoid wearing uncomfortable shoes for long periods of time.

Monitor Your Weight

Carrying extra weight than what your spine can take is a leading cause of back pain. Losing weight is not something that will happen for you overnight, but in order to relieve yourself from the regular aches, it is important that you exercise to not only shed the extra weight but also strengthen your back and core.

It is important to remember that when it comes to back pain, our first instinct should be to try natural remedies as our systems just may be out of the wellness sync, surgery must be a last resort decision.
