Tips To Keep Your Skin Healthy For The Summer Season

With summer just around the corner, many people are planning vacations, getaways, or more sunny days by the pool. While the summer months can be relaxing, they can be hard on skin- especially if you are planning to spend a lot of time in the sun. Fortunately, there plenty of ways to keep your skin protected this summer.

Commit to Sun Protection: Most of us know the importance of lathering on sunscreen at the beach, but even a few hours spent under the summer sun without protection can have negative consequences. Make sure that you are applying sunscreen every time you go outdoors and remember to reapply after swimming. Wearing sunglasses is another important form of sun protection. Not only will wearing sunglasses outdoors protect your vision, but it will also help avoid damage to the skin around your eyes.

Opt for Natural Products: Using natural skin care products is especially important during the summer. Your skin is exposed to plenty of chemicals in the pool and will need time to rest. Look for natural, paraben free sunscreen as well as natural makeup products.

Boost with the Right Vitamins and Minerals: Look for skin care products that carry Vitamin C and ferulic acid which are both known to for their ability to reverse sun damage. Vitamin C can also soothe irritated skin and help fight sunspots. For skin that is dry from increased pool time, consider adding Vitamin E or Argan oil.

Hydrate: Healthy skin requires plenty of water and most people tend to get particularly dehydrated during the summer months. Commit to drinking at least one glass of water with every meal and always try to have water on hand when you travel or explore nature.

While summertime is fun, it is also a time to take good care of your skin.
